When I boot up I get an alert telling me WGA is trying to read and alter the physical memory. According to Zonelab this is unnessessary and dangerous. Any ideas why this is happening and how to stop it? I've tried posting this on the Microsoft forum 3 times without success.

Thanks Woodchip. Did a full virus scan and spyware scan nothing came up.

The application thats trying to alter the memory is wgatray.exe

I found that had altered the windows check file so just replaced it from the backup files to fix it ;)

also HijackThis found the WGA file and reported it as a 'nasty' so got it to remove it ;)

Thanks Sethhaniel. How about a run through for dummies on how to do this? Would be much appreciated.
