Do you mean like this click here

If so you have a European plus and just need a UK plug. (Did you buy from Pixmania? As theyare French they often supply the "wrong" plug for UK users.

If you mean a two prong for the mains then most people call the adaptor you need for it a shaver adaptor. Cost about £1-2.

Hi, you had better check the voltage range on it, it might be a foreign type - like perhaps on the continent where the mains is only 110v. Otherwise you could get a adapter plug for it - one of the multi socket type sold in most electrical stores for travel abroad.

Yes, it looks like that. I just got it from my local PC place, but they didnt say anything. Thanks all, I casn tick this now and just get an adaptor.

Have you checked the actual Voltage range of the drive?

  al7478 19:02 04 May 2007

i think its 100-240, but im not 100% sure what im looking for.

  Totally-braindead 19:07 04 May 2007

Technotiger is right, I would double check with the store you got it from. If its a 110v one then connecting it to 240 would fry it - better safe than sorry.

OK, well im scared now. Its plugged in at the moment as im reformating it, and theres been no bangs as yet.

  Totally-braindead 19:22 04 May 2007

Its ok then, if it wasn't it would have blown straight away.

while formatting it says its only 232.88bg. i know you often lose a bit, but isnt that a bit much?
