Well done AVG

I have two or three email addresses and when downloading mail to one of the more public ones I found 33 emails awaiting attention.

AVG immediately informed me of a virus and I cancelled downloading and then when checking them via web mail found that they were all infected communications, judging by the subject lines. They were then deleted without downloading to my machine.

This is just a reminder of the benefits of keeping your anti virus up to date, and a thank you to AVG for providing a free service that saved me an awful lot of bother.

I am in complete agreement with you. I had an email forwarded to me by a friend in France, saying he couldn't open it. AVG flagged it as the virus "mimail" and quarantined it. I emailed my friend and told him to delete it. He is using an Apple Mac so don't know whether he still has it or not. He faxed me telling me he is not using his computer until he can fix it. I don't know anything about Mac's so I can't help him.
