Is there a site structure that is commonly accepted as the best for having 2 names on the same host?

by "2 names on the same host?" Can you explain in more detail?

The problem is that at 1 and 1.com I have a site name for my self and my daughter has a site name for enterprise. I log into my site and I see part of her site files. I am not sure on how to change the file structure so that I don't interfere with her site working, but have space for my site to work.
thanks for the response

a dozen different sites on my 1&1 account. Each site is in it's own folder within the root. In each of those folders are the relevant folders for that particular site.

I can't really see what your problem is.

I have 3 sites on 1and1.co.uk, and I too have them in three different folders. I log on using my FTP to one of them and then choose one of the three folders.

I appreciate the responses that I have received.
I was concerned that these files sitting in the root directory were active to my daughters website. I did not want to move them and her site having problems.
