Web page meta-tags

HI, I have a web page set up, and want search engines to find it. I understand I have to put special 'met-tags' into the page but am not sure how.

I have clicked on 'Page Properties' then on 'Custom' and have put 'keywords' in the name section, and a lsit of keywords in value, seperated by semi colons.

Is that how it is done?

It doesn't seem to make my pages come up in google at all.

Are you using an editor? You should be able to put MATA tags in using most of the good editors. I wouldn't worry too much, the search engines will look through the text anyway and pick out the relevant info. It could take a few days to several months for a search engine to pick up a web site, unless you pay.

It can take up to 2 months before it appears on some search engines.

OK Thanks guys, I imagined it all happened fairly instantly.

I am with oneandone.co.uk, they seem to offer a good quality service.

I will wait a month or two and see what happens.

Thanks a lot,

DRiM
