I am trying to access a certain page on a website but I keep getting this page coming up.

Have just installed the latest update to Java but still cannot proceed.

An Error has occurred in this application.

Latest is Java 6 update7 I think.Did you remove the rest before you updated.

  Daibus 13:58 23 Aug 2008

No I didn't - should I reinstall Java again after removing the older versions from my PC.

Do you think this is the cause of the problem?

  birdface 14:04 23 Aug 2008

Yes I would remove them all run C Cleaner then just install the latest version.

Many thanks for replies but I have tried what you said and have used CCleaner then reinstalled the latest version of Java but I am still unable to get that page loaded and keep getting those various Java messages that were sent in my original question.

Further help would be much appreciated and cheers again.

Googled.java.lang.NumberFormatException: null all a bit double dutch to me.But i may have been pointing you to the wrong form of java.

I would have thought this was more likely to be a problem with the website itself rather than your PC. You haven't mentioned what the website is. Any chance you could share it with us, and see if we get the same problem?

Many thanks for your replies.

The website that I'm trying to access is a secure page from within my ISP's website here in Spain - which can make it more difficult to find a solution.

I am unable to access the page which would allow me to make a payment to them but can get into my clients area as usual, using my password etc - no problema.

Checked with Google but the solution to the problem is absolute double dutch to me as well.

Any more help appreciated.

OK - then I think it is even more likely to be a problem with the site - as you can access the website but not a link within it. Have you previously made payments successfully using that page? If so, then I would contact the site and query it with them.
