wd drive problem

Hi there.

I have a Western Digital 60GB Passport External USB 2.0 2.5" Hard Drive. It was working great for about six months but now I can't seen to access it.

I put in the USB cable and the light turns on as normal but my computer doesn't seem to be picking it up. Usually when I go to My Computer it is there as an extra device but now there is nothing.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Please reinstall the drivers supplied with the drive. Unplug it first, install drivers, switch off PC and connect the drive, then reboot.

Sounds like a dead drive, does it make any sound at all when you plug it in?

When it used to work it did make a 'bling' sound when I connected or disconnected the drive but now there is no sound.
I will try to dig out the disk it came with and try installing the drivers again.

Thanks guys
