Watermarks in Word

  Dirty Dick 15:00 17 Jun 2004

Is there any way of getting a picture watermark to print in the lower half of a page and not centrally. Thanks

in PSP or similar so when inserted in word the blank border is in top half and picture in bottom :>

Did this once by inserting the watermark in a footer, then when you view headers & footers you can select the watermark and move it anywhere you want it.

Depends on which version of Word but the principle is as Shas says. View Header & Footer. Insert a text box that stretches from the header to the footer. Insert your picture, right click it and format it as a watermark, ("washout" in Word XP), resize it to suit your page. The text box will now have shrunk to the size of your picture.Drag the text box to your chosen location on the page. Format the text box and remove the border line.

With the picture selected click Format>Picture>Layout>Behind Text. Then click 'Advanced' and uncheck 'Move object with text'

Good tip but still do it in header and footer. (Less chance of accidentally moving it) I`m not sure if that works with Word versions prior to Word 2000 though.

I'm still using Word 97 and it worked fine in that :o)
