watch dvds via usb or ext hdd ?

i have got a few dvds on my hdd in different formats. is it possible to put them on a usb stick or a ext hdd if so how. dont want to keep burning to disc, my girlfriend has got a tv with a usb port on.also have converting software

CHeck the manual and find what file formats the TV will play.

As Fruit Bat /\0/\ has stated you will need to check the TV manual to see if it will play films from an external USB/HD. If the TV can play films the manual will tell you the file type and if the USB/HD will need to be fat or ntfs.
