I am thinking of upgrading from Wanadoo Anytime dial-up to Wanadoo broadband. One of the requirements listed is Internet Explorer or higher. Can I use Firefox instead of IE and Thunderbird instead of OE?

I can't think of any reason why not.

Firefox will not work properly on all websites.

Yes i use Firefox, does not seem to present me with any problems. Bobby.

It does if you have the Java version.

I use both Firefox and Thunderbird and, for all intents and purposes, apart from IE and OE's constant requirement to keep updated, there is no difference in actual use.

If you do decide to switch to Firefox download Firefox Finetune from:

It saves doing it manually from about:config and speeds up the browser quite remarkably.

If you visit websites which require Java or similar plug-ins Firefox asks if you wish to download them. Accept.

My thanks to all who replied.I thought it would be OK but I didn't want to commit myself and then find I was saddled with OE and IE with all the updating and patching problems.
