W98 to XP

Retailers offer at least 3 versions of XP Home Edition, N09-00051, N09-00983 & N09-00986. What are the differences & which one should I pick to do an upgrade from 98SE with the option of a clean install?

Just buy windows XP home OEM SP2.

I can vouch that you get a clean install and it is really easy aswell.

Course you dont have to get it from here this was just an example. But OEM is the same program as full but without the booklet.

Hope this helps

But note the caveat on Novatech's site, you must also buy a qualifying item of hardware. You must also install and use it. And if it fails in the future you can no longer use that copy of Windows. I know retail is more expensive, but it solves a lot of problems. Personally I never use OEM, its more trouble than its worth.
