Good Afternoon all, I am using a realtek AC97 Audio sond card in my Advent laptp WinXPHome
but the volume even at highest setting is very low. I have adjusted all settings but the volume is just below a comfortable level. inbuiltspeakers/headphones the same. Is this the fault of the card and would replacing it with a better quality card solve the problem. (I know very little about soundcards) Any help appreciated. Herby

I had a thought last evening (having made the same mistake with my son`s laptop); you have got the volume wheel on the side turned up haven`t you?

Thanks Johndrew, I dont have a volume wheel on this laptop. But that is good commonsense thinking on your part. Regds Herby
