Hi, I have a 2gb memory stick thingy, every day or so when i start the laptop, running XP, it tells me that the volume of the stick is dirty, then it goes though some kind of check, I have reformatted it on a few occasions and it still does it, it is fat32 whereas the laptop is NTFS, the stick has no choice for making it ntfs

anyone any idea what is wrong, thank you

try this:

start>run type "command" (no quote marks) then type "chkdsk /f X:" where X is the drive letter of the USB drive. (again, no quotes)
