vitural memory

every time i shutdown my computer i get a warning saying my vitural memory is to low it is being expanded but some programs mite not work. what dose this mean & how can i fix it im running on xp & have 26gb off free space . ps im only a beginer

Virtual memory is Windows using a portion of your hard drive to write information to instead of using your computer's real (physical) memory (RAM).

The message suggests that Windows is adjusting the amount of disk space that it uses for this. If everything is running sommthly, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
