i have upgraded kicking and screaming to vista, i checked system compatability, and all was fine, but, as per usual, when everything booted up, quite correctly, i had no sound,i checked, and found that vista not recognising my soundblaster card, so went to creative n downloaded the beta vista drivers, nope not working either, its on motherboard, connected correctly, but drivers saying its not, confusion rules, do i need a new soundcard, will vista allow the upgrade??? or am i buggered and have wasted 220 hard earned quid???

Maybe trying a different approach of installing the drivers if your sure you have the correct version.

Remove the sound card.
Remove current drivers.
Create a folder on your desktop.
Download the correct driver and save in the desktop folder.
Replace the sound card and reboot
This should ask for the drivers
Now point the hardware wizard to the desktop drivers.

Worth a try......
