Vista driver for Trust MI 2540D mouse

Bought today a Trust MI2540D mouse that, as stated quite clearly on the box and website, it is Vista compatible.

On plugging it in (USB) Windows detects it and tries to install the driver but it says that a file is missing as "the INF file (?) was written for win95 !!"

Itried the Trust site for a driver but as it's supposed to be PnP there isn't one there.

Is there a driver for a similar model or compatible brand that may work?

Thanks.

Forgot to say that the mouse installed and works fine on my XP lappy, sio it'e definately not the mouse that's the problem.

Usually Trust supplies a driver disc. If there wasn't one then take it back.
Strange as both Trust mouses I've got just plug and play but both came with driver discs.

To continue; that is on Vista.

rdave13,

It didn't come with a driver disc and it isn't listed on the contents of the box, just the mouse and a 2 step guide-

1) Remove from box

2) Plug it in.

Other users are looking for a solution too (on other forums) and it does appear that it really should be PnP.

I have contacted Trust via their site but they may take 3 days to reply.

With Vista you should not need a CD driver as vista will load a Generic one. But this will not make any extra buttons work

Got a reply from Trust

"Dear customer,

For this product, no special Trust driver is needed. This is because
either the product does not need a driver in order to function properly,
or the default driver from your operating system should be used.

In some cases the S.O. can't find generic/ standard driver for trust
device in this case try to specify the location:

C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore"

Or

C:\windows\system32\Drivers"

Or

C:\WINDOWS\inf

Best regards,"

Tried all 3 of the above, still no joy.

Oh well :(
