  ianeon 17:56 13 Mar 2007

Good morning - "Her indoors" has just acquired a new Gateway Laptop which runs VISTA - My question is - Before I start making expensive mistakes! Does anyone know where I can find an up to-date list of software which can be uesd with Vista - I believe CCLEANER can,AVG ANTI-VIRUS can but ZONE ALARM can't. - Any help would be appreciated - Thank you for your time - Ian

The new firewall on Vista is extremely good, as it now protects both ways, unlike he original windows xp.

I know there is a free one available, but I can't remember which.

I The vista firewall ogether with AVG (free) and cclear.

Also AdAware(free).

Forgetting anti spyware virus and the like, I find I am able to run all the other programs I used to run with XP

I have recently got a Vista PC and virtually everything, other than security suites etc, that ran on XP runs on Vista. If it doesn't you can always invoke compatibility and run it as XP.
