I have a machine that has been running vista successfuly for several months, however it now fails to boot and requests a backup cd wich i have not created. it was an upgrade from xp in to an official windows vista ultimate. I ave booted from the vista cd and used the repair tools however it cannot find my restore points and won't boot. I have installed a second version of xp onto my machine but into a "windows2" folder instead of the "windows" folder this version of xp boots however I cannot install or boot vista.
does anyone have any ideas.

cheers
