Vision N1 Modem Router

  perplexed user 17:34 02 Feb 2009

I'm having problem accessing my Belkin Vison N1 Modem/Router via a patch cable to access and change settings using my laptop. I type the "routersetup" or the IP address but to no avail. Could Macfee be restricting this or are all ethernet pacth cables the same?
Any ideas would be welcome.

Try turning McAfee off. If you disconnect the telephone cable from the router you can't come to any harm and you can still access the router and make any necessary changes without being connected to the net.

Have you tried another patch cable to rule that out as faulty?
