Viruses on increase?

  georgemac 17:22 20 Feb 2004

Mailwasher has reported about 7 emails with possible viruses in them in the last 2 days. I have maybe had one in the last fortnight.

However I just got this email saying (my email address) had sent an email containing the W32/Netsky-B virus to [email protected] - the subject line was apparently "stolen"

I have checked my sent items and of course I never sent any such email.

I have up to date AVG and sygate firewall and did a full scan on my system yesterday - no virus present.

Anyone else ween anything like this?

Yup - it been sent from someone elses PC in your name. You then get the return mail because they think i came from you.

it was deleted straight away and I have ran another virus scan which shows my system is clean.

Just off to read the article - now I'm wondering if one of my friends PC's is infected - how did it get my addy - perhaps the article will highlight this

I get some spam appearing in Mailwasher apparently coming to me from me. I just delete without downloading.

Friad, 2004 is set to be big for viruses. Yes, they seem to be on the rise.
