ok,read so much about viruses and what protection you need,and what you have to do with them,but it dont say whether it will make your os fail,like if you delete a virus that is in a windows file,is it safe just to hit the delete button, thanks

No it's not safe, that's why you let the antivirus software take care of it, most of the time the av software will normally delete it, store it in a vault or attempt a heal.

thanks de marcus have just installed mc afee on my sis pc it found some potential viruses so i put them in quarantene, and asked it to heal, it could not heal,so do i just delete them now

If they're in quarantine and the heal didn't work, but the PC is running fine, delete them.
