I have just removed Norton Internet Security and installed Avast. The first thing it picked up was a virus Virus Win32:parite-PEC in windows\system32\VDSPOPUP.DLL, then picked it up in system volume information......AO161227.DLL. Now it is Windows\temp\avast4_. Whats it all about and how come Norton never found it. Its obviously needed as nothing in Tech Pro Utilities works. Help!

Hi First the system volume one is in your System Restore {leave it there for know} Start your computer in safe mode that's repeat pressing of F8 on a restart and use the up/down arrows to select safe mode,

Download ATF it will delete all temp Internet files and Cookies, click here

Run a full scan with Avast and a Antispyware program SAS Superantispyware in the above safe mode,

SAS/ FREE/ click here

Please check for any updates for SAS before you use it for the first time.
