virus - system dissappearing !!!!

I think i may have a virus on my pc, program started shutting down and i can't access my (c)drive, it isn't even showing up in my computer. Al the items are missing from my start menu also so i can't even access the system restore...can anyone help please

It sounds like you have Win Antivirus 2008 or similar which is a real pig to get rid of. Can you run click here from a USB stick (it is free).

To access your drives go to 'my computer' (if on desktop), right click, select 'manage' and then go to 'disk management'. Right click on the drive you wish to access and click 'open'.

ok tried to access manage but everything i try tel me failed to load, inthis case error was mms.exe - application error (the application failed to initiaize properly) i am getting this message on everything i try to access.

ok tried to start in safe mode but it restarted and told me it failed to start properly !

Have you got an XP CD to do a repair? It may bring the system back to a point where you can actually get into Windows and start cleaning it up. click here
