hi, my friend has just got a pc, hes running xp and has just installed AVG anti virus, he ran it and he had 37 virus's on it...AVG removed them all except this 1 which said C\WINDOWS|SYSTEM32/IDECNTL.EXE it said it was still on the drive, how does he get rid of it? thnx guys
I suspect that he is running Kazaa as this is a well-known trojan associated with that loveable piece of openware. It is difficult to nab as it tends to morph into another file. I would suggest some heavey stuff such as 'Killbox' click here... download and run it. In the 'Enter Full Path and Filename to Delete' box, copy and paste this entry C\WINDOWS|SYSTEM32/IDECNTL.EXE click 'exit' when done.Check afterwards that it has not changed to 'grviewex.exe' If it has, hit Killbox again.
