Can anyone tell me why I keep on getting a warning window from AVG virus shield, (I have AVG installed on my system) telling me I have contracted the Broc B virus and there is a trojan in my system.

I have run loads of checks and even re formated but there are no signs of a virus or trojan. Im begining to think its a advert or a mischievous worm of kinds... but I dont need to be srufing the net it comes on it also happens when the computer has been inactive too.

I am using win XP home on a Emachines PC, my knowledge is slightly higher than a beginer... but plain english is always good too..

My thanks in anticipation

Do you get any other info from AVG---This "virus" is not listed by Symantec either.

Just done a quick Google search-Broc B only appears as an Aids/Hepititus virus!.

Checked the Bitdefender site, nothing shown under Broc B click here

If AVG has isolated the pest, other scans etc. might not detect it. Go here click here for help with diagnosis/removal.

Thanks everyone who posted, some of the links wouldnt open, which is another story for another day.. but this is the report from bitdefender:

C:\WINDOWS\biprep.exe infected: Trojan.Spy.BI
C:\WINDOWS\biprep.exe unable to disinfect
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\bridge.dll infected: Trojan.Spy.Briss.B
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\bridge.dll unable to disinfect

After running Adaware I ran bit defender again and this time it came up with the following:

C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\bridge.dll infected: Trojan.Spy.Briss.B
