Hi guys one of my friends has a virus (i strongly suspect) on his p.c. He has made the fatal mistake of not scanning files he has downloaded. He has vista installed and basicly the pc is very slow. it wont allow you to connect to the internet. it has been behaving very odd in other ways. The major problem is his norton is out of date and wont allow him to scan his computer. can i create a virus rescue disk on my computer, for his?? What is the best way?

thx

richard

You could try burning this removal tool to disc; click here . Haven't tried it myself but worth a go.

Dissable Norton, download AVG for him and install it on his PC then let it scan, pref in safe mode.
Norton will slow his pc down considerably.

Did you try downloading Avast's antivirus tool an downloading to your desktop, then burning to disk, and loading to your friend's PC?
Then if successful download Avast home (free) and save.
Burn to disc again and install on infected machine.
Dpownload the apropiate Norton remover tool and again burn to disc.
While the PC is not internet enabled disable firewall, antivirus..etc., of Norton. R

Sorry for not completing last post, something came up unexpectedly.
Just to finish off- disable the Norton apps and run the uninstaller. Install Avast and enable windows firewall for now. If you can go on the net
now then install asquared and there's a good list of security apps by skidzy which I can't find now of course! :(
