Virus Found by AVG but unable to delete

  wildtrout 13:58 21 Mar 2003

I am running AVG free software which has found two Viruses I.Worm/Opas.g and I.Worm/Opas.e. Avg will not allow these to be cleaned or deleted.
The file path shows C:\_Restore\Temp|A0083932.CPY and C:\_Restore\Temp\A0083933.CPY.
Where are thse files located as I have been unable to locate them using Search and how do I delete them.
This machine is running Windows ME.

You need to disable System Restore, wildtrout, that's where the viruses are hiding. Disabling System Restore will delete all your Restore Points and the virus along with them. When you have done that rescan your system and if you're given the all clear by your virus scanner, re-activate System Restore and create a clean Restore Point.

Afraid it does not apply to windows 98 as it does not have system restore.

At a guess click here for removal instructions.

p.s. if it's not that virus just search that site for the speicifc virus you have and removal instructions should be seen.
