Virus email

I have got about 3 of these emails in the last month from different sources (who are not in my email contact list!) saying the same thing. An example is given below:
"Austrade's virus detection facility has detected the virus [email protected] in the
attachment your_archive.pif from my email> and the virus was
Deleted. The Subject of this e-mail is Re: Your archive and it was sent to
[email protected]>"
I have Panda Antivirus Titanium which is updated daily and constantly on, and scanning my hard drive shows no viruses. I have never emailed these people! Can somebody explain whats going on?

Your e-mail address has been spoofed by the virus that is on somebody else's PC. Just delete them. I get them too both at home and work.
