Virus affecting video files?

Hello

I was having problems with my copy of Win Media Player 9.

The problem was with the colours, they were wildly distorted making viewing impossible.

I could not upgrade to version 11 as I run win 2000.

So I downloaded a free copy of GOM Player only to find that exactly the same problem occurs.

Does this mean I have some sort of video virus?

Help

A few things to look at first...
check resolution settings and it is also set to 32bit colours
fyi

possibly broken codec
try klite codec pack,it also has a codec tweak tool to fix broken codecs.

Also have you tried updating /reinstalling the graphics driver.

Hello again.

I have checked everything mentioned and downloaded the VLC player, and I still have the same problem.

Could this be a problem with my graphics card, I presume I have one? Did someone mention updating the drivers, have not tried that yet, and as I have no idea how to do this, perhaps someone has another idea?

Thank you
