Hi
I have a problem with my Canon Lide 30 scanner , its started to scan VERY slow , before the performance was OK
I cant understand why , I have tried it on another PC and its fine so its not the scanner,
It seems that it is not using virtual memory/ pagefile as it does not seem to be writing anything to disc while scanning The PC is a P4 3.0 ghz with 1mb ram
I have reset the pagefile , even set this to the max or min has no effect on the scanner , its like something is turned off and the scanner is not able to use the pagefile or system memory ,
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the twain drivers but with no luck,
Any help would be appreicated

As weel as the drivers have you tried un-installing the scanner in device manager and let windows find it again after a re-start?

Have you changed any settings in the actual scanner software or installed any other software that may be conflicting?

Nothings changed as iam only using the twain driver , none of the software that comes bundled with the scanner has ever been used ( crap )
Only thing install is a USB web cam , deleted that but no difference

My two penneth worth

1. Your pc may have to much runnung in the background.

Go Start then Run type in

msconfig

click OK the choose the startup tab.

Use the search click here and untick anyting not required.

Has it solved the Problem?

2. If not click here# View devices that are missing from your XP workstation in Device Manager and see if the scanner is there multiple times and if so remove them.

Hi AndySD
Thank for you tips
Had allready run msconfig all was OK
Device manager found no missing items etc , just two processors ?

Have noticed that in task manager that the processor shots to 100% useage while scanning but the memory stays constant about 250mb so its the processor thats doing all the work ?

Cheers

Woody
