is it possible for a virtual drive to be infected by a virus and if so would this infect your pc or just the virtual drive thanx

Yes, it can have a virus if one was put on with whatever data is on the VD.

It will only infect the pc when the virus is activated on the VD. So if it is there, it's best to get it innoculated / removed.
