Virgin Media Cable - two pcs

  Air_Man 17:56 06 May 2007

Newbie question here - apologies in advance (I'm happy building systems but......)

I have VM cable and currently it is wired up to the upstairs office. I use the Ethernet port to connect it to my desktop PC and then remove the ENet cable and plug in the USB cable (rebooting the modem) when I need to connect my work laptop.

I want to be able to surf the web on the lounge TV (a Hitachi HD ready model) and would like to replace our current PCR with a media centre type PC (do both jobs).

I would like to keep it all wired if pos.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a website that might help me understand the technical issues (heck, I'd even fork out for vista if needs be).

I'm guessing I need some sort of "router" all though I must admit these are a mystery to me.

Any help would be most appreciated.
