hi could anyone tell me if my internet speeds sound ok. im suppose to get up to 10mb but when i run a speed test i only get approx 5839kbps download and 489 upload speed.

Upload speed at 489kbps is about right, but download should be very close to 10,000kbps.

I've just tested twice with click here and got 9510kbps & 9840kbps download with 470kbps upload both times.

Were you on Virgin's original 10Mbps service or the 2Mbps that's recently been updated? I was on the original 10Mbps, but know someone who should have been upgraded from 2Mbps and doesn't seem to get the full 10Mbps.

i was on 2mbps and was updated. first thought it was my old ntlhome 120 modem but virgin said that would work fine with 10mb.

This is the one that the Virginmedia engineers use.

It is important that you have nothing running on your computer when running it.
I would open Task Manager then run the speed test just to see what is using up the Cpu sometimes your security programs click in and slow it down.
