Videos won't play in Facebook

Videos posted in Facebook by friends wouldn't play . All I get is a black screen with two arrows at the extreme right (pointing right) and left (pointing left) of the screen as if they were for the purpose of moving to the next item on a list .Below are the details of my system. I am running WIndows 7 Home Premium and have the latest Chrome and Flash installed.

Google Chrome 42.0.2311.152 (Official Build) dev-m (32-bit) Revision c707233f90c2f1d16db21143b8f009ff9b14c3bd-refs/branch-heads/2311@{#509} OS Windows Blink 537.36 (@194530) JavaScript V8 4.2.77.19 Flash 17.0.0.188

Not sure if this will help but in the not-too-distant past, I remember there were 2 files in chrome:plugins related to Adobe Flash Player. They are the pepflashplayer.dll AND NPSWF32.dll but currently I can only find the former as shown below: Location:C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\42.0.2311.152\PepperFlash\pepflashplayer.dll The same problem happens when I open the videos in IE11. I had no issues with videos when I use IE9 (before I upgraded it to IE11 a month ago). I also have no issues with playing videos in Youtube. Any help rendered is most appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks Fruit Bat for the response but I've tried everything that they recommended and the problem is still there.

I have, more or less, given up.

My solution, until I find better, is to download Flash Player every time I reboot my PC. It only takes a couple of minutes but is a bore.
