hi i have a friends sony camcorder and want to show a home movie connecting the camera through my pc i have windows xphome sp3 all i have in the camera hold all is the camera and a usb cable thanks Chippy

you nead the camera manual to tell you what connectors are required to connect to a computer in order to do what you want. Then you nead the same sockets on your computer. Then if you intend to do any editing ,you nead a program installed to do that

I don't think you can do it like that, First you need a Driver for the Camcorder then its not like a digital still camera but you have to start the camcorder through software such as free XP moviemaker

If you look at the back of your telly there may be RCA sockets so you can plug it direct into TV and select with AV mode

You need to connect with a 'Firewire' cable, much quicker than USB.
Obviously, your computer needs to have the same type of connection.
