Video format converter

I have a video file ( format DV AVI Type 1)captured from my camcorder.

A software I use to create DVD disc from the above file requires a Type 2 AVI format otherwise the resultant video on the dvd has no Audio!

I have used software 'WinAVIVideoConverter' & 'EO Video' to convert from Type 1 to Type2, but
the resultant Type 2 format video's quality is not the same as the original(Type 1 video from the camcorder ),in fact somewhat faint and shakey.

I would appreciate if there are other softwares exist to do the same without compromising the video quality.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions !

I have a JVC digital camcorder and was trying to transfer video footage to my pc, unfortunately although I use the connection (IEEE 1394) and dv connector vc-vdv204u (as recommended by camcorder instructions)-the pc does not show the camcorder! Can anyone help?

tapsilteerie:

I suggest you start a new thread. Your problem is quite different to the one above.
