I HAVE JUST BROUGHT A H.P. PAVILION A708UK COMPUTER WITH A INTEL CELERON D 330 CPU.
IT RUNS WINDOWS XP AND HAS 256MB OF DDR MEMORY.
THE QUESTION I HAVE IS THIS, I AM TRYING TO DOWNLOAD ALL MY OLD VHS AND 8mm CAMCORDER TAPES TO DVD. BUT ALL OF THE AUDIO/VIDEO INPUT DEVICES THAT PLUG INTO THE USB 2.0 PORT THAT I HAVE SO FAR FOUND STATE THEY REQUIRE A PENTIUM 4 PROCESSOR.
DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A DEVICE THAT WILL WORK ON MY COMPUTER WITHOUT HAVING ANY PICTURE DROPOUT OR LIPSYNC PROBLEMS.
I DONT WANT TO START TAKING THE COMPUTER APART YET AS I HAVE ONLY HAD IT A SHORT TIME AND DONT WANT TO CAUSE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE WARRANTY.
IF ANYONE IN THE SAME SITUATION HAS FOUND AN ANSWER COULD THEY PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
YOURS IN DESPERATION.
ITAN.

I do it on my Celeron 2.6Gb P4 Based with only 256Mb memory

When devices state they want a P4, it's usually a general statement of performance requirements, not an inflexible hardware mandate. They will almost certainly work just as well with a top spec Celery D or any of the latest offerings from AMD. What exactly are you looking at ?
