Video Editing

I was having problems with the Audio /Visual going out of sync. I think I may found the answer if anyone is interested.
I changed the editing drive to USB drive (USB 2) and the problem has virtually dissapeared. Does USB run faster then IDE or is it because there are no system files to get in the way.

No with USB2 you will get a Lag with the Drive, i.e the editing program cannot run as fast

I have had probs from out of sync video/audio using Studio V9. What are you using?. Surely saving to a USB2 drive would not make a difference? Thanks David

Thanks for the information 'Woodchip'

Sorry about the delay, I have away for a few days, thinking about it, it could be that either

1-- I have more free space on the USB drive
2--It has a 16 mb buffer on it.

Question-- If I put my USB (Standard drive fitted into a box)in my system, would that be a better option ?

All I know is that it works better.
