video to dvd

I have some video files (.S01E01.WS.PDTV.XviD-RiVER)which I want to convert to put on dvd so that they can be played on my dvd player , what software do i need to convert this type of file. Dave

This type of question comes up quite often.To be honest,i would expect you will have to pay something unless you can get a free trial and see how you get on.Here are a couple for starters,not to sure if you get a trial version first though. click here

google for xvid to dvd.

try AVI2DVD- its completely free, and as far as im aware I think it can convert your xvid avi video file to dvd. it can take a while but the quality is usually good, although it can depend on the bitrate/quality of the original file. its fairly simple to use, and the program can also convert the other way around as well, dvd files (vob/ifo) to avi.

step 1.choose avi mode, add your avi file, select its aspect ratio
step 2.choose output folder, and whether you want the final file to be an iso or dvd files (vob/ifo)
steps 3,4,5 (encoders, subtitles, create menu) you prob wont need to fiddle with

then hit GO! when finished burn with nero or whatever you want to use
