  bluerreyes 12:43 28 Oct 2006

I am looking to play the game battlefield 2 but my pc only has the capabilities to use a pci slot card. I have checked with the game makers and they have given me a list of compatible cards which are,
"ATI Radeon

X700 (PCIe), X600 (PCIe), X800 XT Platinum Edition, X800 PRO, X300 series.
9800 series, 9700 series, 9600 series, 9559 (RV350LX), 9500 series, 8500 series.

6600 (PCIe), PCX 5900 (PCIe).
5800 series (AGP).
6800 Ultra, 6800 GT, 6800.
FX 5950 series, FX 5900 series, FX 5700 series."

If you could tell me if these cards are available in pci slot are of another card that is compatible with battlefield 2.
I ahve attached my pc specs.
I cannot afford to upgrade my pc so a graphics card is my only alternative.
Hope you can help me thanks.

I don't think any of those are PCI, here are some I have found that may help click here

Your pc is at the very minimum level for Battlefield fact I think it is really going to struggle with this game.I've seen many reports on the web concerning the need for greater than 1GB of RAM with this game and performance issues even on powerful gaming pcs.

In addition to this there are no PCI bus cards that would meet the reqirements......This is especially true as any card running on the PCI bus will perform very poorly compared to the same card on the AGP or PCI-e bus.

You may get the game to run with a GeForce 5200 card but the performance will be very poor.......if you are thinking of playing online then you will find yourself at a considerable disadvantage through poor frame rates.

The only way to find out is to try fitting a better card.....this is under £50 and is probably the best you will get click here

It's certainly cheaper than a new pc but you are going to have to bite the bullet soon an accept that your pc is not up to playing modern games.

Could you check out this card and tell me what you think is it better than the one you suggested or not?

6200 will make battlefield 2 look like a slideshow even if it was in a pci express slot. If you want to play modern games you will need a decent spec pc.

My machine runs it ok in that spec if that helps
