VGA to RCA

Hi all

I want to use my LCD TV to view my laptop. It only has a VGA output socket, in the manual it says "You can connect an external (VGA) monitor or projector to your computer's external display port. Use the Fn + F5 hot key to toggle the display setting between the computer's LCD panel and the external display device." I guess this would use a VGA to VGA connector. The laptop is a TravelMate 2200/2700 Series.

I was hoping to use the VGA output socket and get a vga to component video cable(with 3 RCA connectors) as there are 3 inputs on my TV. There is not a VGA connector. I believe I need the output from the VGA to give Y, Pa/Ca, Pr/Cr. (what ever that is)

I can get the sound from the 3.5mm headphones jack.

Can anyone tell me if this will work?

thanks
Mike
