Real quick, does anyone know what kind of cable you would use to connect an older VCR (one that just has a L-Audio, R-Audio and Video red, white and yellow 3 way output) to an IEEE 1394 port?

cheers

What you are after is a 3 RCA phono lead to Firewire .

A quick look on Google found a number of similar queries and that lead does not appear to exist.

any ideas on how we could get this working ? perhaps a change of |vcr? a special card?

I have a Pinnacle Linx cable which is 3 RCA to USB and that works a treat with the Pinnacle Studio 8 software that came with it. It was £30 18 months ago - I don't know if they still do it or not.

or, if you own or can borrow a DV camcorder with AV inputs to suit and firewire, set it to 'pass-thru' mode and you're set.
