Hello everyone,

I just bought the vgn-fz11s vaio and I'm experiencing problems with my xp installation (vista pre-installed but formatted my hd). My modem is not found and i have neither bluetooth or sound...

Device manager has yellow marks on:
1. PCI device
2. UGX
3. Mass storage controller

With a little googleing i saw that lots of people have problems regarding xp drivers (sony still hasn't released them). Can someone suggest any tools to find out what my components are? Any help would be much appreciated. Also I need to install a linux distribution (dual boot with xp), fedora 7 or ubuntu 7.02. Anyone had a similar experience?

Thanx in advance.
Alex

Most branded PCs have a hidden partition with all the drivers on it, by formatting the PC instead of restoring it back to the default you might have destroyed the partition.
This should be them if the model number you have given is accurate click here but you'd probably be better letting the website scan your PC.

sony support has a site where you enter the model of laptop and you can download the drivers

Thanks Totally-braindead and sunny staines, I visited earlier that site but I thought it was vista drivers only, but so far my mass storage controller and the bluetooth problems are solved! Now reboot and go for the audio!
