V92 only connects at 28.600bps

Some Help on this if you can give some, It is a Win98se Computer the Modem is a Intel Fax, Hardware Modem On the Box Intel, Bar code IF56A-CL/UK but apears to be a ambient, Where can I get the Latest drivers and init strings

It as nothing to do with BT line as I get between 48.000 and 50.600 on the same line. On different Computers. The Modem above is a new one in a comp that I am getting shut of.

Which ISP are you with? Some of them do NOT yet support v.92. Freeserve (Wannadoo) is one of them.

PS both other computers are V92, the one I am on now is a V90 and all work between 48.000 and 50.600bps

Try the latest driver for the modem from, for instance, click here Look under Ambient for the Intel chipset and relevant driver/.ini file.

Also check that you have the correct country listed for your modem i.e. UK - some modems are configured initially for the States etc.

This is one of those day's when a OLD driver work's better. Just loaded a Intel Ham driver and got the speed up to 45.333bps So thank's for info anyway but you know the Job never give up trying. Woodchip
