I hve just upgraded my system to a pentium IV 3.0GHz with hyperthreading and 1GB dual channel DDR 400 runnimg windows XP. My creative Modem Blaster V.92 which worked fine on my old system will now not work. It connects to the remote computer but immediately disconnects. An old generic V.90 modem works fine on the new system, any ideas? The drivers are as up-to-date as I can get them.

Are you still with the same ISP? Some don't recognise the V92 modem. j.

Trying to think of some obvious causes for the moment. Do you have any of the BT. services enabled, call waiting, Phone number blocked, or answering service? If you do then place the No. 1472 in front of your ISP connection number, this will allow CLI. [Caller line identification] This will let Your ISP identify you immediately, may stop the disconnection. j.

Replace that with 1470! not 1472 :o(
