I have a Hewlett Packard Brio pc about 6 years old, running Windows 95. the software has got in a mess files being corrupted etc. and I have been trying to do a complete product Recovery using the Recovery CDRom supplied by HP. However although I have followed the instructions to insert the Rom in the drive before booting up nothing happens. I am using a memorex Twelve Max CD rewriter which rep[laced the original supplied Compact disk, although this is still in the computer but not connected.
Can any readers who have had similar problems possibly help out, it will be greatly appreciated.

wallflower have you set your computer to boot from cd rom in the bios?you need to hit (usually the delete key as it starts up you will then get a set of options the one you need is the boot menu and you need to select cdrom as first boot device then save the changes and restart the computer.darren
