Using a range extender as a wireless adapter

Can a range extender be used as a wireless adapter? The connection between the pc and the extender would be via an ethernet cable.

Hi TomG

Well; you can use Wireless access points as a Bridge.

Say your computer is too far from your network connection; you can buy two wireless access points with network switches in. If you set them up correctly; they will talk to each other to "extend" the cable.

This will only work if your range extender is a full blown access point with network switch.

Have a look at the following link to see if your situation is covered:-
