Hi, I realize it is not really PC related, but, I want to rig up a camera at the front door, I have a spare flat panel monitor (Dell), is there anyway I could use it, with out having a PC connected to it.what would I need to get a picture on it.

Thanks

Nothing that I can think of, Ikelos, the screen usually gets it's picture through a graphics card/chip. But those security cameras will usually come with software that allows you to view their output on your PC.

depends on the inputs of your flat screen.

oh, just had a look at the back, it only has the 15pin plug, the other half of which is on the back of the laptop.

Thanks

Most cameras have composite video and audio output, your monitor will have VGA input.

the only way is by using a composite to VGA convertor and they are £60+
