USB storage

I have a small (freebie) USB 16Mb harddisc which works fine on my Windows XP machine at work but not on my Win98 laptop at home. Can I download the necessary driver - or enable my Win 98 to recognise it?

Hi, XP doesn't need drivers to operate USB devices. 98 does. You will have to go to the manufacturers web site to download the relevant drivers. (What make and model is your 'Freebie'?) Cheers, Bill

Thanks for that - unfortunately it only has an advertising logo on it - no other details at all! I'll try to ask the company that gave it to me.

If the unit has model No. on it you could try typing number into google and see what comes up.

I think its possible that another manufacturer's USB storage device driver might work with it. Have you got a friend with one for which he has a Win 98 driver disk?
