USB Speed

Can you tell the USB Speed??

I am suspecting my USB 2 + firewire pci card is only operating at the lower speed.

Odd thing USB 2 items seem to work OK.
Its a BELKIN HI-speed USB 2 and firewire PCI Card

USB 2.0 speeds (and more) click here

USB2 will operate at all three USB speeds and is backwards compatible with all USB devices.

Why exactly do you suspect it's operating at a lower speed than "hi-speed"?

I was having trouble with a webcam, which worked on other pc`s with USB 2 but not on USB 2 -XP.

Plus the same happens with downloading to our mobile phone, on everything except this XP

Do things work correctly on the ports on the PC motherboard?

Perhaps the card is faulty?

Did you install any software for the card?

What is the main chip that the card uses?

Have you tried s different card?

the USB card has worked fine for 3 years (and still working just the same) if it had been faulty it has been the same all along ???

the ports on the machine are USB 1.
When you plug a USB 2 devices in these, it tells you that these could work at a better speed.
As a side note,
on the win 2000 lappy, the USB 2 is via a picai(?) card with a power lead, just wondering if this, EXTRA, power, makes it work on an old machine??
